Joe Nathan Signing

I’m not sure how I feel about the Nathan signing.  There is no arguing that he’s been great, but he’s 39.  I can only hope he has a year or two left in him.

Here’s an interview with Dan Dickerson:

  1. I’m indifferent to this signing… I was raised during the John Hiller era, where saves were earned the hard way, so I’ve never understood the fascination with the Closer of today’s game. The most important guy in the bullpen is the guy that can come in when the fire is hot….. 2 or more on with 1 or less outs, in the 7th or 8th inning. Where the margin for error is zero. The guy I’m more interested in is the 2006 version of Joel Zumaya. He was the biggest reason for us getting to the world series that year. We haven’t really had that guy since.. Maybe Al-Al or Rondon? We can only hope…

  2. Well Tommy John can do things to a man…..I am 100% sure we are better set at closer now than we were this time last year
