at the NHL All-Star Game.
I hope he scores tomorrow.
Los Angeles Kings’ goalie Flashes Leather against my buddy Jerome Iginla.
Somehow, I missed this one from the #2 overall pick.
I miss Donnie Kelly.
This is a switch, we met Don Kelly while with the Tigers, instead of back when he was with the Whitecaps!
Tonight the West Michigan Whitecaps will add two more players to it’s prestigious Hall of Fame, as alumni Don Kelly and Cameron Maybin return to Grand Rapids for the 22nd annual Whitecaps Community Foundation Winter Baseball Banquet. Maybin is returning to the Tigers organization after being traded to the Marlins in the deal that brought Miguel Cabrera to Detroit. He was a first-round pick of the Tigers in 2005, playing his first full pro season in West Michigan in 2006, hitting .304 with nine home runs, 69 RBI’s, and 27 stolen bases. Maybin also played in the 2006 MLB All-Star Futures Game, and help lead the ‘Caps to the 2006 Midwest League Championship while being named MWL Prospect of the Year.

A tribute.
Going back to KC, and I’m glad. Gordon in a another team’s uniform would be weird. The KC blue just seems to suit him.
The Royals gave the 32 year old, gold glove outfielder, a lot of money, $72 million over 4 years, pending a physical.

FYI: I have to agree with Sark, Gordon’s homer in game 1 of the World Series, pretty much ended the Mets chances.
His goal last night is one of the nicest I’ve seen in a while.
Jerome Iginla, my favorite non-Red Wing, scored his 600th NHL goal last night.
Although Iginla’s 600th goal came as a member of the Colorado Avalanche, he will be forever known as the captain of the Calgary Flames.
Former Flames’ GM, Craig Button, had this to say about Iginla:
“He doesn’t carry himself with any attitude or arrogance. He’s confident in his abilities. He’s self-assured. He’s genuine. He’s a better person than he is a player, and we all know what kind of player he is.”
That’s saying something when you consider Iginla is only the 19th player in NHL history to score 600 goals.
Perhaps good guys win one in a while.
Good on you Jerome, Congratulations.
I’m not much of a football fan and I have to admit I didn’t know who Thomas Rawls was a few minutes ago. However, I ran across this story while checking my fantasy hockey score and I have to admit, it brought a tear to my eyes.
“Seattle Seahawks running back Thomas Rawls may be out for the year with a broken ankle, but that doesn’t mean he’s not still making things happen. On Christmas morning, a young fan named Sophie Ayers received a Rawls jersey under her tree and had the following reaction”
Here’s a link to the story.
Sophie’s reaction is one of the things I love about Christmas.
From now on, when I do happen to watch football, I’ll be pulling for Thomas Rawls.
Good on you Thomas!
