He hit this ball into a conniption.
Yes, I’m a Tim Tebow fan.
Yesterday, Tebow hit his first minor league home run, for the Columbia Fireflies, off of pitcher Domenic Mazza.
Tim Tebows Christian Faith is no secret. However, did you know that Domenic Mazza was drafted in the 22nd round of the 2015 entry draft by the San Francisco Giants. Mazza was the 666th player taken.
I have been paying moderate attention to the World Baseball Classic. When I remember, I turn it on. On Monday, Miggy hit a solo shot in the ninth, against Italy for Venezuela, that tied the game at 2. Venezuela went on to win the game.
This normally wouldn’t qualify as a Conniption Shot. However, three things make it so. First, I’m the editor of this blog. Second, the game circumstances. Third, Jose Miguel Cabrera is that damn good.
From Friday, May 20th, 2016 against Tampa Bay.
This one is in the camera well and is the definition of hitting a ball into a conniption!
Can someone explain how this is a “cheap shot”?
I’m watching ESPN and they are showing the fight. I believe Eduardo Perez said, the Blue Jays feel that Odor’s punch was a “cheap shot”. I’m sorry, WTF, Odor’s right cross was anything but “cheap”. Is any punch that connects, “cheap”.
Addendum: May 16th, 2016.
Now I’ve heard everything. Christopher Russo of MLB Network has been screaming that Rougy’s bomb on Bautista was a “sucker punch”. What universe is he living in? He then proceeds to say that Odor was running away after the punch. Are we watching the same video? Actually, I saw it live as well. Bautista has to be given credit for not being KO’d but Rougy wasn’t running away from anything. In fact, it looks like he was moving forward, going in for the finish, when Beltre broke it up. Also, it looks like Rougy was throwing rights at Pillar as well. I thought these hosts were supposed to be “unbiased”, like the news. 🙂
10/27/2015- Conniption Shots don’t come much bigger than this one. Alex Gordon tied Game 1 of the 2015 World Series, in the bottom of the ninth, by hitting a Jeurys Familia pitch into an absolute CONNIPTION.
I’m quite certain Eric Hosmer, whose error in the eighth gave the Mets the lead, was happier than Gordon and I don’t blame him. The media was trying to hang the “Bill Buckner” monicker on him before the game was over.
For Tigers fans, remember when we used to see Jose Miguel Cabrera hit balls into a Conniption like Gordon did? And in key situations. I hope those days aren’t over.
10/21/2015 – Although this was in a losing effort, Kris Bryant, absolutely hit this ball into a conniption off of Tyler Clippard.
10/14/2015 – This is a mammoth conniption shot. Another Miggy-esque homer and it came at a most important time. I know I’m a little late with this post but I was out of town working. Better late than never.
I’m not sure about the bat flip.
10/13/2015 – This is a Miggy-esque conniption shot that helped the Cubs make history. For the first time, the Chicago Cubs won a playoff series at home.
