Drew Smyly tweeted this picture of Max donning a WWE Champion’s belt. Apparently, it was a gift to Max from Vince McMahon and the WWE, celebrating his 2013 Cy Young award.

I don’t have a lot of confidence they will sign him long-term. It takes 2 to make a deal and I don’t know if they are willing to pay to pitchers JV-type money. It also wouldn’t surprise me in the least if next year this time they have traded Miggy.. Hope not, but they can’t let both of them simply walk away without just compensation.
The belt look awesome on Max. Let’s see how he follows up his Cy Young season, and go from there. I think the Tigers are actually banking he won’t be as good as he was last season, and may sign him a little cheaper. I hope he helps them win the WS series, though. It’s been a long time coming in Detroit.
