Tigers 4 Mariners 2

OK, I don’t get it. How can the Tigers put together solid at-bats up and down the lineup, drive up the pitch count, score two runs on seven hits, and drive one of the best pitchers in baseball from the game in only five innings? This is same offense who made Shane Greene and Chris Capuano look like Cy Young candidates.

This game doesn’t seem like an anomaly either? Remember the Angels series in Anaheim? The Tigers scored six runs in game one, when Garrett Richards pitched, then took the next three games off.

If the Tigers offense only decides to concentrate when they face a good pitcher that might be worse than actually sucking. That means they only play when they feel like it.

I’m not sure what to make of this team.

Price was excellent tonight. I was surprised BA left him in when he got in trouble in the eighth but perhaps the Arizona and Toronto series taught him a lesson.

The shit bird, Joe Nathan, pitched the ninth. I was surprised by the crowd’s reaction, or lack thereof. The crowd really didn’t boo or cheer him. It was quiet and kind of strange. (h/t to my cousin Bob & Nebraska for emailing me the link to this story.)

One more thing, up yours Nathan you shit bird.

Freeway Ricky was bad.

The offense was bad.

The Tigers are now 1.5 games behind the Royals

They only good thing from this game is that Miggy had two doubles and a walk.

I just hope they don’t get swept. I thought today was a must win game. I don’t like their chances tomorrow or Sunday.

Tigers 5 Pirates 2

The offense hit well, the pitchers pitched well, and the Tigers won their second in a row.

Well, not all of the pitchers pitched well, Phil Coke was horrible, but Joba came in to clean up the mess and save the game.

Max was absolutely smokin’ balls. Fourteen Ks in eight innings. It looks like his plan for a bigger payday might be working out. I’ll bet he ends up with the Yankees next season.

J.D. Martinez was 2-3 with a bomb and two RBIs and Nick Castellanos was 2-4 with two RBIs.

Interestingly, after Coke gave up two runs in ninth and created a save situation, Ausmus called Joba’s number not Nathan’s. I was wondering what the crowd reaction was going to be if that shit dog came into the game. I was hoping he’d get booed out the stadium no matter what he did.

Also, Joba tipped his hat to the crowd after the game. I wonder if that was his version of a Bronx cheer, taking another shot at the crowd?

I really want Nathan gone. I know he apologized but I don’t care. He has shown Tigers fans, on several occasions, his true colors. (Remember when he blamed his blown save on Castellanos?)

Up yours Nathan you shit bird.

Joe Nathan – Ass Clown

Boohoohoo Nathan.  You crybaby.

Did Joe Nathan give chin flick to Detroit Tigers fans last night? | Detroit Free Press | freep.com.

You got booed because you suck.  If you can’t take it, quit.  And while you’re at it, grow a pair, and take responsibility for pitching like the the piece of garbage you are instead of blaming rookies.

Go back to Texas you shit bird.

Hey Double D, if you have a pair you’ll cut this pile of shit. You have to eat his salary regardless and is he helping the Tigers win?

Tigers 8 Pirates 4

It’s amazing how much better a win makes everything seem. Especially when a pathetic offense scores eight runs in come from behind fashion.

Kudos have to go out to Alex “A Squared Money” Avila. He ignited a stagnant offense with a monster shot to right field. After that, the rest of the offense came alive.

Kudos again to Nick Castellanos for another big shot to give the Tigers the lead for good.

What makes this win nicer is that the Tigers only got a decent start from rookie Buck Farmer but the bullpen for once got the job done.

Blaine Hardy was solid for two innings and Joba was good as well in the eighth. Joe Nathan was Joe Nathan, not good but adequate, I guess.

One interesting move by the Pirates was the intentional walk to Cabrera. Although, Miggy took a walk and drove in a run with a deep fly ball, he has been struggling with little power but I guess he’s still Miguel Cabrera. That being said, I’m not sure I would have given him the free pass.

Pirates 4 Tigers 2

For the seventh time in nine road games the Tigers lost.

I feel like an idiot for tuning in every game and hoping for a different outcome.

The Tigers aren’t doing anything well. Perhaps Brad Ausmus should consider playing his best defensive team and seeing what happens. It’s not like the offense can get much worse.

By playing defense first maybe they can help the struggling bullpen. The Tigers can’t afford to give anybody extra outs. Their pitching and offense can’t overcome the defensive miscues that plague this team on a regular basis.

Victor is going to have to sit in NL parks. Ever since his injury he hasn’t been doing much anyway and Cabrera can’t play third. Romine has to play short. I’m not sure what to do at third, maybe DK? Actually, I’m not sure what to do with the outfield either. On queue, the minute I commented on how well J.D. Martinez was playing in the field, suddenly he can’t pick the ball up anymore. Torii is old, I don’t think Davis is much of a fielder and I’m pissed at Carrera.

What a mess.

Disaster; Pirates 11 Tigers 6

The Tigers are a sinking ship. I’ve been complaining most of the year and I’ve used up almost every negative adjective I can think of to describe this team.

I don’t think they are going to recover this season.

JV left after one inning with pain in his shoulder. I think the best thing for JV and the Tigers is for him to go on the DL. He looked pretty good his last few starts but has struggled most of this year. He’s logged a lot of innings over the last few years. Let me sit down, rest, heal and hopefully right himself.

The good part about this game is that the Tigers tried to battle back. Even after falling behind bid, early, they didn’t seem to pack it in.

The pitching was horrible and the defense was worse.

KC has a 3-2 lead over the A’s with two out in the ninth.

Kiss first place, and most likely this season, goodbye.

I’ll show up tomorrow. Let’s hope the Tiger do as well.
